This is mom's 1999 Chevy Silverado pickup. It has the 325 engine,
and somehow gets 19-20 mpg almost all the time, in mostly rural
driving. Too bad the SES light stays on...maybe one day I'll try
to fix it. Dang obd II.
Update: I think I found the problem with the EVAP system, which
was setting a P0442 trouble code (small leak). The charcoal
canister had a hole worn in it
by the handle on the gas tank
rubbing against it for 100,000 miles. I priced a new canister at
the dealer, list price is over $130, so I went to the local salvage
yard and found a used one from a rolled very low mile truck for $45,
and installed it...after putting a piece of steel plate on it using the
handyman's secret weapon
We used to have some more late model junk, but got rid of it, because, well, it was junk!
