Jeep

This is my 1995 Jeep Cherokee. I bought it to build for Drag Week. The basic idea is to build something cheap, light, and fast. Ugly is optional. I was able to find a 2 door for a reasonable price. I'll convert it to two wheel drive.

This car is equipped with few options. The orignal engine was the 2.5 four cylinder, with a 5 speed manual transmission. It did come with four wheel drive and air conditioning, as well as power steering, aluminum wheels, and a casette player. I'm working on removing all that stuff, getting it back to bare basics, to save weight.

The car has a lot of miles. I didn't drive it with the original engine, because it had been overheated, lost compression, and would not run.

Two months later, it's all together and running. Still needs tuning, and a roll bar, and a few other things. It's quick, and relatively mild mannered in normal driving.
