1961 Chevy Belair Bubbletop

I got this car as a basket case.  My revised plan is to restore the body stock, leave the interior mostly gutted, put in a wild 454, and drive it around on the street.

I have almost all the body parts, except the center of the front bumper, and the front valences.  I may leave the front bumper off, and make it ride high, for that old time look.

here's a teaser

I have most of the parts now to build the engine, it will be an 11:1 427, steel crank, large rods, rectangular port closed chamber iron heads, with the L-88 solid lifter cam.  Transmission will be a Muncie, behind an early Lakewood scattershield.  The rearend already has the 4.88 posi and aftermarket axles installed.

The bodywork is started, I fixed the trunk floor, and have the main floor cut out and the replacement pans almost fitted.  I need to sandblast, then get welding.

I have been collecting some more parts for this car, including an old electronic voltage regulator to work with a mid 60s alternator, and some Delta Mark Ten CDI boxes.
